Commenting on Wednesday’s Spending Review and Autumn Statement, Damian Hinds said: “This Autumn Statement demonstrates that security remains the government’s top priority and stays central to policy making. There were a number of elements in the Autumn Statement and Spending Review of particular note for East Hampshire and the local region."
120 people attended the East Hampshire Conservatives' Annual Dinner at the Half Moon in Petersfield on Saturday night. Colonel Bob Stewart, MP was the guest of honour and entertained the company with stories from his days in the Army.
Damian said: “I am concerned that the revised ACP submitted to the CAA at the beginning of July has not been subject to the same level of scrutiny as the original, despite some major changes having been made to proposed arrival and departure flightpaths. These changes could have a significant impact on local communities and it is only right that people have the opportunity to fully understand the proposals through a new and open consultation.
Damian has welcomed the the latest news on superfast broadband in East Hampshire: “I am delighted that more premises are now receiving coverage as a direct result of extra public funds. I do know how frustrating it is for residents and businesses locally who can't get decent broadband and there are still too many of those across East Hampshire.”
Damian hosted a Dementia Friends information session last Friday at the Alton Community Centre. Since becoming a Dementia Friends 'Champion' Damian plans to hold a series of these events across East Hampshire, continuing with one in Petersfield in December and one in Liphook in February.

East Hampshire MP Damian Hinds hosted the first of two ‘Listening to Business’ meetings in Alton this morning and was delighted to have the opportunity to discuss a range of issues with local businesses.
